Pirates On My Tail

Avast their me hearties, splice the mainbrace and shiver me timbers. What motley crue is this? Tis 12 pirates 'afore their voyage up the Waveney, the last act of defiance of young Richard Foster before he weds his lovely fiancée. There is he is aboard my tail, arrr!
What mischief did these miscreants manage aboard their jolly boats? I've no idea 'coz they didn't tell me.
Pieces of eight!

Of Rats and Rafts

Today I was fully deafened by the sound of what I believe is known as "Jazz", as performed by the legendary Water Rats at the Waveney Inn. They certainly come with quite an entourage, the marina and car park were full to bursting. I think they must have enjoyed themselves as they didn't stop until tea time and I still have a ringing noise in my gills. Or is that the phone.

In other news, Saturday's Raft Race was a great success, helping to raise £2,400 for the South Broads Lifeboat Station as part of the Waveney Inn's fundraising weekend. Well done all! There were 10 rafts this year, a tip-top-turnout, and the Boatshed Batboat won despite having sabotaged their own raft by building it inside out and drafting in a female crew after Maxwell decided to have his nails done instead. Claire is apparently now an honorary boatbuilder. Gary & Ritch (pictured) came second, with the Waveney Inn Simples third.

So long for now fish freaks.

Working for the Raft Race

My mate Max has just been over to ask why I haven't mentioned the Waveney Inn Raft Race, and that's a very good question which I'm still trying to answer.

In the mean time, allow me to mention the Waveney Inn Raft Race - part of the Waveney Inn RNLI Fund Raising Weekend Frolic Extravaganzathon, over the weekend of 17th-19th July. The fun starts on Friday night with Gary's famous "I'll Sing For Anything" Garyoke, where you can make a proper plonker of yourself but you don't mind coz it's all in a good cause, innit.

Over the weekend there will be a bouncy castle, a barbecue, some fund raising stalls including Play Your Cards right and of course the famous stocks where the boss got slapped last time so he's not playing this year.

At 3pm on Saturday there's the signature feature of the weekend, the Manned Raft Race, where it is compulsory to get wet and/or sink the raft. Sadly fish are not eligible to enter but most other sentient beings are race fit, click here for the full details.

And at the same time on Sunday there's the Mini Raft Race, a kind of pooh sticks game but with rafts, if you will. More here.

I'm really looking forward to it, me, and hope to see you there.

Love & fishy kisses

Your friend, Eddie x

PS I had 3 girls sitting on my tail last week and nobody took a photo!
