News from the fish tank
What a lovely week I'm having, just like summer all over again. Lots of people sitting on my tail including my new mates the Darlington family who are my new best friends on FB. Yesterday I watched every single day cruiser go out, and most of them went out today too! Moz is getting over her cold (it's her birthday next week so wish her a happy one if you see her) and Ritch has been in his happy place, the digger. He's excavated the biggest hole you ever did see and he still wants to make it bigger. Why he likes such big holes I don't know. Meanwhile Steve & the boatshed boys are doing the final polish on the latest plug in the Funnell line-up, ready for laying up the jelly mould next week. I keep hearing rumours about new showers too, I will let you know if I find out what's really going on.

A Fish Meets His Maker
I can see clearly now my eyes are clean...Guess who came to see me a few weeks ago? None less than my creators - My Gods, if you will - Alex Hallowes & Pete Rogers, who were visiting the Broads for the first time in many years aboard their beautiful yacht Rosie - pictured in the background here behind me, Alex & Pete.
The first thing they noticed was that my eyes had clouded over. I hadn't even realised they were made of marble and I'd thought my hazy vision was just one of those ageing fish things. But once Pete had scrambled up his wobbly ladder and given me a good going over with a bit of wet & dry, the world came back into focus. Now I can really see what's going on, so behave yourself boys & girls.
Here's a link to the page on Pete & Alex's website where they describe the birth of a steel fish. Must get Gary to polish up my base now that I can see what it used to look like. It's a bit faded.
Latrz, my pikey friends...

A Fish With A Cause
Here's a good cause to support, look you.East Anglian Air Ambulance do sterling service saving lives across the region and a bit like our friends in the lifeboats they don't get a penny from the Government, if you can believe such a thing.
Apparently my friends in the back office have hatched a spiffing wheeze to support said charity in their good work; not only will the Moz be selling lottery cards in the shop, there will be a £1 (optional) donation added to every booking made at WRC from this day forward. So when booking your tent pitch, lodge, day cruiser or mooring, you can relax in the knowledge that you've done your bit to help save a life somewhere. Ease your conscience with a holiday at Waveney River Centre!
So long my friends

I'm on TV, darlings
Wow I'm on TV! Tune in to Sky channel 166 next week (from Monday 12th October), at 7:30 pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday or 11:30 am on the other days, if you want to see me in all my thespian glory.
Or, if you just can't wait (and let's face it you can't, can you) - just watch the video below. My cameo star appearance is around the 5:00 minute mark; Chris Gosling, the show's producer, certainly got my best side.
Could this be the start of a glittering showbiz career?
Farewell for now, luvvies.

Your Just Reward
I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.It seems as though something is being given away down at the Mariner's Stores. Next time you're in the shop, pick up one of my new Loyalty Discount cards. It's one of those stamp-collecting jobbies, evidently you get a fishy stamp for every £10 you spend and when you've collected 20 fish you get £10 off your next purchase.
Now you might think that they've restricted this to certain products or excluded some stuff, but no. Anything you can buy in the shop (including fuel, gas and pump outs) is included. Well, everything except phone top-ups.
How cool is that? Maureen already has cards waiting for more permanent customers, so call in and pick yours up today!
Giving stuff away? They must be losing the plot. Quick, take advantage before they come to their senses.
The trees get a haircut
This week our resident chainsaw-wielding maniac has been let loose on the willows around the site and he's taken about half the branches off. Unperturbed by the accusations of vandalism from some quarters, the boys have been pollarding like mad and now have a big pile of sticks.
Apparently the chunkier stuff will be used as part of the new wildflower garden (about which more later) whilst the twiggy bits will get chipped and used as part of the natural landscaping. I do love this recycling game.
So long pikeys!
