Sausage & swimming

Max popped over this morning and mentioned that the new Poolside Café will be opening this Friday.
Not content with running the ever-popular Waveney Inn, Nigel & Tracy have taken charge of the pool and will be offering cooked breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and heaven knows what else, all season. Hash browns have even been mentioned (my favourite) so I'll be flapping my way up there on Friday morning at 8:30 sharp.
Rumour has it that there will be pool entertainment including an inflatable hour and other fun stuff during the school holidays.
I love it.

What a shower

How exciting, watching the doozers knocking these showers into shape. Who'd have thought humans could have made it so complicated just to have a wash and a poo? What was actually wrong with doing it all in the river or by a tree like every other species on the planet?

But finally they're reaching completion and I can see that this will be the finest waterside shower and toilet experience anywhere in the kingdom. 10 luxury self-contained wet rooms, each with shower, toilet, basin, hair dryer and, wait for it, *underfloor heating* if you please! Whatever will they think of next?

All for the use of our happy campers, caravanners and boaters. And yes, all included in the price of the pitch or mooring.

I can't wait to see you using them! Well not literally of course, there's no hidden camera or anything...

Bird spotting - what a hoot

Park Warden Steve Mitchell's been on the wildlife spotting trail - today he followed this owl as it flew towards Waveney River Centre. Not sure how he managed to drive in a straight line whilst he was filming it, mind.
We're a wildlife haven!

I left my art in Burgh St Peter

Just heard from Muriel on the barge that she's running a whizzy art show in the Waveney Inn this season.
Apparently if you're a budding artist or photographer then you can get your works on display in the Gallery Lounge at yonder pub, with the 10% sales commission going to the RNLI.
That sounds like a no-brainer even to a fish so if you're interested please email muriel.lacey@yahoo.co.uk
